Scandinavian workwear brands Fristads, Kansas and Leijona are now a part of Hultafors Group. The acquisition from Fristads Kansas Group has been approved by the competition authorities and is effective immediately.

“Fristads, Kansas and Leijona are on a positive trajectory and have made significant investments in key operations recently. The acquisition by Hultafors Group is a golden opportunity for our brands to continue on this path, together with a strong, profitable and investment-minded owner that is also very knowledgeable about the industry,” says Anders Hülse, CEO of Fristads, Kansas and Leijona.

Organisationally, Fristads, Kansas and Leijona will operate as a separate stand-alone unit within Hultafors Group, Business Unit Workwear, and will continue to develop their brands with their own sales force and innovation and sustainability as guiding stars.

“We are very pleased to welcome Fristads, Kansas and Leijona to Hultafors Group. The combined companies now represent the strongest Personal Protection Equipment offering in Europe and North America. Together, we have access to leading workwear industry expertise and will continue to drive the development of our industry with a focus on customer value, product innovation and sustainability”, says Camilla Monefeldt Kirstein, EVP Business Unit Workwear at Hultafors Group.

Hultafors Group first announced its plans to purchase Fristads, Kansas and Leijona from Fristads Kansas Group last December. Following the closing of the deal, Fristads Kansas Group will be reorganised and change names to The Cotton Group. It is also phasing out its headquarters in Borås.

“This is a new, exciting chapter for Fristads, Kansas and Leijona and we are proud to be a part of Hultafors Group’s impressive portfolio. Joining such a large and diverse organisation gives us a stable foundation from which to drive future growth and our mission to lead the industry in sustainability,” says Anders Hülse, CEO of Fristads, Kansas and Leijona.
