Fristads launches world’s first environmentally declared high visibility collection

Fristads takes the next step in becoming a more sustainable supplier of workwear by launching its most comprehensive sustainably produced workwear collection to date – Fristads Green High Visibility.

The Fristads Green High Visibility collection consists of a wide range of garments making it possible for professional workers within road, building & construction, transport and logistics to dress from top to toe in high visibility garments with lower environmental impact – without compromising on safety and quality.

“It’s the most comprehensive sustainably produced collection in Fristads’ range so far. We have been working long and hard on this collection and it will be the first of its kind in the world, so it is a big milestone for us,” Fristads’ Product Management Director Lene Jul said.

Leading the way in sustainability
Fristads has a long-term goal to lead the workwear industry when it comes to sustainability and broke new ground when it launched the world’s first environmentally declared clothing collection Fristads Green in 2019. All Fristads Green products have an Environmental Product Declaration, an EPD, showing the garment’s total impact on the environment, from construction and material choices to waste and transports.

“I’m proud of the fact that we are the first company that now can offer more sustainable workwear to this large and important group of professional users, and that we continue to work with such a transparent tool as the EPD, showing the garments’ total impact on the environment. Good work clothes should protect people, but not at unnecessary expense of the environment,” said Anders Hülse, Managing Director at Fristads.

This is the fourth Fristads Green collection to be released. Since the launch of the first environmentally declared collection for craftsmen, the Fristads Green concept has been expanded to include garments for service and industry as well as outer garments. The plan is to offer environmentally declared Fristads Green garments in all product segments.

Facts: This is Fristads Green High Visibility
Fristads Green High Visibility consists of two collections, GPLU and GSTP. GPLU will be launched during spring 2022 and GSTP will be launched during autumn 2022. The Fristads Green High Visibility collections will meet a growing demand for high-vis clothing in the transportation and construction industries. They are also ideal for workers in road construction, maintenance and service. The Fristads GPLU collection is made of organic cotton and polyester from recycled PET bottles. The Fristads GSTP collection is the ideal fit for workers within road, building & construction, transport and logistics. With sustainable 4-way stretch throughout and rib-knit stretch panels at the waist, these garments have double the comfort and a smaller environmental impact than regular high-vis workwear. The GSTP collection sports three colour combinations, a wide size range and several women’s models.
