The workwear manufacturer Fristads now adds seven new garments to their Outdoor collection, made for the conscious adventurer. All garments in the collection are partly or completely made of recycled material and a part of the revenue is used to compensate for the carbon dioxide emissions caused by the production of the garments.
Fristads took the leap into a new industry two years ago when they launched an Outdoor collection for the conscious adventurer. With this, Fristads broadened their offer with garments for an active life.
”We want to enable more people to use our garments and with our long history of developing workwear we have a deep knowledge of designing quality garments that stand the tests of the elements,” says Anders Hülse, CEO at Fristads.
Focus on sustainability
A crucial part of the development of the collection has been to keep the environmental impact of the garments as low as possible. This is in line with Fristads’ overall strategy to minimise their negative impact on the climate. For the Outdoor collection the environmental thinking is mainly noticeable in the material choices.
”The garments are partly or completely made of recycled materials and therefor have a lower impact on the environment from the start. We have also chosen to compensate for the carbon dioxide emissions caused by the production of the garments, says Anders Hülse.
Quality and function in the spotlight
As with all Fristads garments, quality and function are prioritised features also for the Outdoor collection, and several details in the garments actually originate from workwear.
”The reflective details, the reinforcements and the knee pockets on our outdoor trousers are just some examples of how our experience from the workwear industry has helped us in developing this collection. We have also benefitted from being able to use the same material developers and manufacturers as for our workwear production when developing this collection,” says Anastasios Lappas, Head of Design and Innovation at Fristads.
New additions to the Outdoor collection
The autumn additions to the Fristads Outdoor collection consist of a stretchy fleece hoodie, a cosy pile jacket, a warming waistcoat, and a pair of shell trousers. The hoodie, the pile jacket and the waistcoat are available in both women’s and men’s models. The new garments are available for purchase from the beginning of October 2022.

Facts: Climate-compensated collection
As a complement to the actions Fristads is taking to ensure a more sustainable production, the carbon dioxide emissions caused by the production of the Outdoor collection are being compensated for. The climate compensation is made on an annual basis. For more information, go to: https://www.fristads.com/en/sustainability/sustainability-strategy/initiatives/climate-compensation
