Fristads’ sustainability ambitions and strategic partnership lead to global expansion

A global leader in facility management has chosen Fristads as their preferred supplier of workwear, deepening a partnership rooted in collaboration, innovation, and sustainability. The multi-year contract signifies an expansion of this long-standing relationship, extending Fristads’ reach into new international markets and underscoring both companies’ shared commitment to sustainability.

“Our partnership goes back over a decade, and we’re thrilled to elevate it to a more strategic level with opportunities in even more countries,” said Anders Bruhn-Schmidt, Global Solutions Business Development Director at Fristads. “This organization has a broad spectrum of workwear needs, and our ability to meet them with a combination of standard and customized products highlights the versatility of our collection.”

The company was one of the first to adopt Fristads’ Green Calculator, an online tool that demonstrates the environmental impact savings from using Fristads’ workwear with an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). In addition, they were an early participant in Fristads' innovative recycling service, which collects worn-out workwear for recycling into products like furniture padding and car interiors. Both the EPD and the recycling service are part of Fristads’ commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent by 2030.

“We share Fristads’ passion for social and environmental sustainability and have been impressed by their leadership in this area, especially the development of an EPD for clothing,” said the Category Manager at the facility service company. “We also appreciate that Fristads is actively working to close the loop on their clothing production and has reduced the amount of plastic packaging in their deliveries.”

Broad Workwear Assortment and Tailored Solutions

Since 2012, Fristads has provided workwear for this facility service leader’s diverse workforce across roles in maintenance, security, food services, technical support, and more. Over the years, Fristads has collaborated with them on product development, designing garments tailored to the unique needs of these roles.

According to the agreement, Fristads will supply hundreds of items from its regular range alongside approximately 80 custom-designed pieces, covering workwear needs from reception staff to multi-norm garments for high-risk areas.

“At Fristads, we believe all workers have the right to high-quality workwear, but it shouldn’t be produced at unnecessary expense of the environment. By joining forces with customers that share our sustainability ambitions, we can make a difference on a larger scale. We are all in this together,” said Anders Bruhn-Schmidt, Global Solutions Business Development Director at Fristads.
