Securitas is now launching its new workwear collection, made from recycled and organic materials and developed in collaboration with Fristads. In addition to the new collection, Securitas has also chosen to use Fristads' circular sustainability services for the repair, reuse, and recycling of workwear.
"Securitas has been a long-standing customer of Fristads, and we are proud to have developed their new collection and worked together to ensure the garments are used as long as possible. It is particularly inspiring to work with a customer who shares our commitment to sustainability and sees the potential in reducing the environmental footprint of workwear," said Robin Wistemo, Key Account Manager at Fristads.
Securitas is one of the first customers in Sweden to use Fristads’ Sustainability as a Service offer which was launched on a large scale earlier this year. This means that Fristads repairs, reuses, and recycles Securitas’ workwear to the greatest extent possible, thereby reducing the garments’ negative impact on the climate.
Sustainability was also a key focus in the development of the new collection. The garments are made from recycled polyester and organic cotton, and Fristads has prioritised finding highly durable materials of exceptional quality. To allow the workwear to be easily combined and customised for different users, it has been designed according to a functional layering system.
Employee engagement from the start
An essential part of the development process was involving Securitas employees to understand and meet their needs for safe and comfortable workwear in the field. The garments have been thoroughly tested by users from various departments across different seasons to ensure they perform in all weather conditions.
"This collection is the result of a dedicated collaboration with both end users and Fristads. The uniform is the most important tool for our employees, and we have considered every detail to ensure the garments meet user requirements for safe and comfortable workwear," said Marlon Perez Reyes, Project Manager at Securitas.
To minimise waste associated with the launch of the new collection, Securitas’ old garments will be gradually phased out.
"For us, it is essential that everyone has access to good and sustainable clothing, both at home and at work, but it should not be produced with unnecessary climate impact. In this work, it is valuable to collaborate with customers who also prioritise sustainability and are willing to think innovatively about manufacturing and extending the life of existing products," said Frida Avasalu, Global Solutions Director at Fristads.
